Die Schweizer Band FINAL STEP bietet live und auf ihren zwei bisherigen Alben einen geschmackvollen Mix aus Rock, Funk, Blues und Jazz Elementen. Darunter mischen sich auch mal verschiedene Loops, Samples sowie diverse Percussion Effekte. Die Mischung machts - und aus diesen unterschiedlichsten Genres entsteht dabei ein moderner Sound mit elektronischen Elementen, welche sich bestens in das musikalische Gesamtergebnis mit einfügen. Keine übertriebene Spielereien, sondern gut überlegte Sounds entstehen. Und die Band groovt!
FINAL STEP wurde 2003 von dem Gitarristen/Komponisten Matteo Finali im Tessin gegründet. Finali zählt zu den talentiersten Schweizer Musikern seiner Zeit, der nach ausgiebigen Studien unter anderen in der New Yorker Clubszene die Initialzündung für die Gründung von FINAL STEP gab. Nach unzähligen Konzerten entstand 2010 das Debütalbum „Desert Trolls“, das auf begeisterte Reaktionen in der Szene stieß. Die stimmige Melange aus Jazz, Rock, Electronik versetzt mit Balkan-Rhythmen öffnete der Band weitere Türen, die Tourneen fanden nun auch zunehmend im Ausland statt.
Auf dem zweiten Album „Uncle Joe’s Space Mill“ ging die Band noch einen Schrittt weiter. Die Ethno-Anleihen traten noch stärker in Erscheinung, der Sound geriet noch intensiver. Mit leichten Anleihen in den Siebzigerjahren des letzten Jahrhunderts entstand ein ungemein groovendes Gesamtpaket, das spürbare Einflüsse von King Crimson, Blodwyn Pig und Ian Carr’s Nucleus in die Jetztzeit transferiert. Spannend.
The Swiss band FINAL STEP offers live and on their two previous albums a tasty mix of rock, funk, blues and jazz elements. Among them also mix several times loops, samples and various percussion effects. The mix - and results from these different genres a modern sound with electronic elements, which fit well into the overall musical result with. No excessive gadgetry, but well thought sounds arise. And the band is grooving!
FINAL STEP was founded in 2003 by guitarist / composer Matteo Finali in Ticino. Finali is one of the most talented Swiss musicians of his time, who gave the initial impetus for the founding of FINAL STEP after extensive studies among others in the New York club scene. After countless concerts in 2010 the debut album "Desert Trolls" was recorded which met with enthusiastic reactions in the scene. The harmonious blend of jazz, rock, Electronics mixed with Balkan rhythms opened more doors.
On the second album "Uncle Joe's Space Mill" the band reached for the next peak. The Ethno-bonds were even stronger in appearance, the sound became more intense. With slight bonds in the seventies of the last century an extremely groovy package, the noticeable influences from King Crimson, Blodwyn Pig and Ian Carr's Nucleus arose transferred to the Present Time. Exciting.
